Depression is one of anxiety’s symptoms. But since it is so common and has such massive effect on a person’s life, depression can sometime be referred to as a condition of its own. There are so much to discuss about depression. I will write separate posts about it. This one is just a broad view of depression
Depression is simply a state of mental energy depletion. It’s like your mental battery has been drained.
Depression ranges from a mild to pushing someone to end their own life. Depression should not be taken lightly. Our mind is the most powerful thing that we possess, and once that mind turns against us, it can cause devastating damages. Depression causes people to lose confidence, interests, relationships, careers and ultimately their life.

Depression is not just affecting people mentally and emotionally; depression can affect people physically, too. Don’t let anyone convince you that it’s just in your head, no it’s not. I myself spent a good few years in my anxiety days battling depression.
Can someone recover from depression? Absolutely! I went from a wreck, physically and mentally, to someone who is living his best life. I did consider ending it all but didn’t have the strength and the courage to do it.
According to Dr. Claire Weekes, Acceptance is the most powerful tool to use against depression. You should not fight it or try to avoid it. The best way is to let depression sit with you. I know it sounds ridiculous. As terrible as depression is, one would think fighting it is a must. We have to hush it away like an ugly monster and never let it return.
But since depression is basically a state of mental energy depletion, do you think using a little energy that your mind has left to fight is a good idea? By doing so, you are keeping your mind at the depletion state. Our mind a body has an incredible ability to recharge itself. So, if you can please just gather all your strength and will to trust me on this one; put down your sword, stop the fight, stop the struggle. Just accept anything that anxiety throws at you. Just let go and dive into every symptom and sensation that your body and mind are fearful of. By doing so, you’re buying time for your body and mind to recharge. As your “battery” gets filled up, you will find more energy, more interest, more drive. Positive energy will start to replace sadness, fear and sorrow. And one day, you will feel like you have just stepped out of a dark room. Your life will be flooded with colors and peace.

And the next time when life gets hard and depression finds its way back to you, you will then know exactly what to do. If you read the A.C.E.R. Method, depression can be defeated by using Acceptance and Repeat. Good luck.
