Feeling of impending doom

Waking up in the morning, then carry through the day and going back to bed feeling like death is near. Nothing seems to be important anymore. This is the feeling that most people who have anxiety and panic attacks suffer from.

This impending doom feeling is the result of fear, doubt and hopelessness, mixed together. Being afraid of the symptoms and sensations, but there is no available answer to why we feel the way we feel. All the tests and scans come back normal. So, what is going on with us? We continue to search. And by searching in fear with no satisfying answer, we create more fear. Our stress and tension rise day after day. We feel worse and worse to the point we feel like the worst is just inches away.

Feeling like we’re going to die is understandable for anxiety and panic attacks sufferers. Because nothing can feel like a near death experience than a panic attack. Not being able to catch a breath, the room is spinning, legs are shaking like they will give out at any second, vision goes haywire, feeling hot or cold or both. And people wonder why we feel like we’re dying when having panic attacks.

Without deep understanding and true acceptance, the fear of death sticks with us throughout the day. And since it doesn’t seem to get any better, no answer is given by our doctors, we believe that the worst will happen.

If Anxiety makes you feel like you’re going to die. You most likely won’t

I went through 10 years of hell with anxiety and panic attacks. I understand it’s not easy to accept it and just live “normal”. But 10 years long of fail attempts taught me that what we feel lead to what we believe. And only surrender to it and accept it can give you the right brick to start building your recovery.

Use A.C.E.R. and the tools recommended on this site and your recovery won’t be far away. I am the living proof of this. I was so deep into anxiety; I wouldn’t even dare to dream of living a life I have now. Don’t give up. It will get better.
