Many people with anxiety have reported that they experience episodes of ringing in the ears, also known as tinnitus.
This happens to me quite often in my anxiety days. It happened on one side or both of my ears. The high pitch ringing could get very intense at times. I had to stop conversations just to wait for the ringing to stop. I remember having to pull over while driving because one of my ears would ring so intensely it interfere with my ability to focus.

I’m not a doctor and not trying to act like one. I really don’t have an explanation for why your ear would ring more often with anxiety. All I know is based on my experience, clenching my jaws was one of the causes. I noticed that once my jaw muscles were more relaxed, my encounter with ringing in the ear was much less intense and less frequent. My guess is that stress makes every single muscle in body to tense up including our jaws and the little muscles inside our ears. This could be related to the ringing in the ear.
Tinnitus is a condition of its own. But if you are checked out by your doctors and still experience these symptoms, you might want to focus on working on your anxiety. It worked for me. Getting my anxiety under control alleviate 90% of my struggle with that annoying and sometime terrifying ringing in the ears.
The ringing in my ears are so loud sometimes my teeth hurt. That’s the only way to express how miserable it is
Mine was so loud it messes with my vision
